During the gold rush in Europe, a young man named Jonathan Joestar lives a lavish lifestyle at his family's estate in Liverpool, England. Known to others as "JoJo," he enjoys a carefree existence playing the role of a gentleman. However, peace is short-lived when Dio Brando, a boy from London who is adopted into the Joestar family due to a debt owed by Jonathan's father, arrives. Although initially welcoming his new sibling, Jonathan soon discovers that Dio has sinister intentions and seeks to inherit the family fortune through deceitful schemes. As Dio's machinations escalate, Jonathan must confront him head-on, marking the beginning of the Joestar bloodline's journey. Along the way, he encounters unique allies and adversaries while maturing into a formidable opponent against his adoptive brother.

A 17-volume kanzenban version dubbed as JoJonium was published in Japan from December 4, 2013, to March 4, 2015. This edition covered the first three parts of the Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken series and included new cover art which showed redesigns of the characters by Araki Hirohiko. JoJoniums first three volumes cover the first part.JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 1: Phantom Blood was published in English by VIZ Media as JoJos Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Phantom Blood from February 24 to August 4, 2015. These were released in a hardback format featuring the JoJonium artwork and contents. It was also published in Italy by Star Comics from from November 1993 to May 1994, and in Spain by Editorial Ivrea following the JoJonium format from June 30 to September 21, 2017.A beatem up video game based on the series developed by Namco Bandai Games Inc. was released in Japan on October 26, 2006.JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has more than 100 million copies in print, making it one of the best-selling manga series in history. Phantom Blood is the first story arc of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure with Dio.
