The dilapidated structure was condemned years ago, but every time its owners attempted to demolish it, strange occurrences took place-people got hurt or even killed. Mai Taniyama and her classmates had heard rumors that the old high school might be haunted by spirits from World War II. On a rainy day, they decided to visit the school to share ghost stories in hopes of attracting one of the suspected supernatural beings. Despite their efforts, no ghosts appeared, but Mai and her friends did encounter Kazuya Shibuya, the young owner of Shibuya Psychic Research, who was there to investigate paranormal activity at the school. Along with an exorcist, a Buddhist monk, a medium, and an outspoken Shinto priestess, they were certain that one of them would possess the abilities necessary to solve this mystery.
Eleven volumes of Ghost Hunt were published in English by Del Rey Manga between September 27, 2005 and November 23, 2010 before the publishing company was taken over by Kodansha USA.
