Yurie Hitotsubashi was a typical middle school student living in Onomichi, Japan's inland sea. She spent most of her time studying for exams and trying to catch the attention of Kenji, the boy she liked. One day during lunch, she suddenly declared that she had become a goddess the previous night. Her friend Mitsue immediately recognized this as an opportunity to promote their family's struggling Shinto shrine by replacing Yashima-sama, their ineffective local deity, with Yurie. Now, all Yurie needs to do is determine how to use her newfound powers.
