Yukino Miyazawa is often described as a model student. She's known for being pretty, kind, and excelling at sports. However, there's more to her than meets the eye. In reality, she admits to being highly self-conscious and driven by the desire to be praised and admired by others.
When Yukino starts high school, she comes face to face with Souichirou Arima, a popular, intelligent, and athletic young man who has just taken her top spot in class. Initially, Yukino hates him and plots to regain her position as the center of attention among students.
However, things take an unexpected turn when Souichirou confesses his love for Yukino. To make matters worse, he also discovers her secret deception and uses it against her in a blackmail scheme. Despite this, Yukino and Souichirou slowly begin to understand each other better and reveal their true selves.
