Anne departs Green Gables and her role as an instructor in Avonlea to pursue further education at Redmond College in Nova Scotia. She stores away memories of rural Avonlea and embarks on new adventures with unexpected events such as receiving a marriage proposal from an undesirable individual, selling her first story, and experiencing a heart-wrenching tragedy that imparts a valuable lesson.
