In an alternate timeline during the 1960s, two dominant nations emerged after a devastating war: Zirnitra Union and United Kingdom of Arnack. The East-West rivalry intensified as they raced to launch the first crewed spacecraft. To gain an advantage, the Union developed a clandestine project called Nosferatu, which aimed to utilize vampires as test subjects for space travel. Despite being viewed as both dangerous and despised, vampires were believed to be ideal candidates due to their similarities with humans. Lev Leps, a soldier in the Union and aspiring astronaut, was assigned to oversee Irina Luminesk, also known as N44, who had been selected for the mission. However, he struggled to detach his emotions from the vampire girl as planned, creating tension and danger for both of them as they prepared to venture into space.
Tsuki to Laika to Nosferatu has been published in English as Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut by Seven Seas Entertainment under the Airship imprint since August 9, 2022.
