Photography is an art form where one uses a camera as their only tool to capture beauty. oji's dream is to become a war photographer and document historical events in front of him. however, his childhood friend sumire believes that he lacks the ability to achieve this goal. in photography club, oji shares his work with others, including ran, an upperclassman who suggests photographing sumire as a way to improve his skills. with permission from sumire, oji takes photos of her and notices a change in himself during the shoot. later, he discovers that one of his images has won an award. although sumire congratulates him, oji sees beyond this accomplishment and recognizes that he possesses greater potential than he initially thought. ran, who oversaw the process, plans to help oji develop his skills further so that he can capture true beauty through a camera's lens.
