Alice is a senior high school student living with an abusive uncle. On one day, she sees her uncle's murder at the hands of "Kumo," also known as Arachnid in Japanese. After fainting, she wakes up to discover that she's now under Kumos care, who has taken on the role of her guardian despite his profession as an assassin.
