Staz Charlie Blood is an influential leader in the Demon World who possesses immense power but has a laid-back approach towards being a vampire. Despite his strict adherence to not consuming human blood, he harbors a fascination with human culture and frequently explores Japan's intricacies. When Fuyumi Yanagi, an attractive human girl, enters the Demon World, Staz develops feelings for her and utilizes this opportunity to learn more about human society. However, their conversation is abruptly terminated when a rival demon challenges his authority. Following a brief battle, Staz defeats his adversary but discovers that Fuyumi has been devoured by a carnivorous plant in the interim. Fortunately for Fuyumi, she persists as a ghost within the Demon World. However, her human allure fades away due to this development, prompting Staz to search for a spell that can resurrect her corpse. This quest takes him to the human realm, which is his ultimate dream come true. Along with Fuyumi and their companions, they are about to embark on an exciting adventure filled with mishaps in the human world.

Blood Lad was published in English by Yen Press in 2-in-1 omnibuses from December 11, 2012 to August 22, 2017. It has also been published in Italian by Panini Comics under the Planet Manga imprint since September 22, 2012; and in Spanish by Norma Editorial since April 2013.
