Teru witnesses many classmates dying in a train wreck and finds two survivors in the tunnel. however, they are far from safety as they struggle to dig out and come up with a plan to survive. the lack of light, food, and the smell of death make one member of the group go crazy. and just when they think they've found a way out, sudden earthquakes shake the tunnel, putting them in even greater danger.

Dragon Head was published in English by Tokyopop from January 10, 2006 to April 8, 2008. Kodansha Comics USA digitally republished the series on February 27, 2018.The series received a live-action film adaptation which screened in Japan on August 30, 2003.
