Yoshiko is a diligent high school student who mostly spends her free time assisting her hikikomori childhood friend and reclusive uncle. During a visit to her uncle's penthouse with two friends, she observes black snow-like particles falling from the sky, but her companions are unaware of it. Following this, an earthquake occurs in the city, trapping Yoshiko, her friends, her uncle, and his dog in an unfamiliar environment filled with peculiar individuals.

Sprite began as a web comic submitted to various web platforms on April 12, 2022, and was officially released on Shounen Jump+ on May 21, 2022 after it won the Bronze Rookie Award for April 2022. The series was published in print by Kadokawa on December 23, 2022 with a sequel chapter and a short extra; the sequel chapter was released on Comic Flapper (Web) on the same day.
