An alternate interpretation of Gurren Lagann is presented here, where Simon resides in Tepelen city and harbors ambitions to become a skilled Gunmen pilot following his exposure to the cosmos through an opening in the sky. One day, he encounters a peculiar small Gunmen which emerges from its hatch to reveal Nia, a stunning girl.
