Following the high school graduation of the astronomy club's president, shiose kanako was appointed as his successor. despite being a capable leader, many members dismiss her authority due to her gender and compare her unfavorably to azumi seiya, a popular male member with a charming personality. in an attempt to increase interest in astronomy among the club's members, kanako visits the rooftop one evening and is astonished by what she discovers there.
