McDohl's friendship with Ted led him down a dangerous path that eventually changed his life from being an Imperial Army soldier to becoming a wanted enemy of the Empire. As the bearer of one of the 27 True Runes, he faced numerous encounters with death before having the True Rune attached to his right hand. Despite this, McDohl continues on his journey through the Empire, facing corruption, cruelty and making difficult decisions in order to restore peace and fulfill the hopes of many who have entrusted him with their future. The game is loosely based on the Water Margin classics but focuses only on gathering 108 Stars of Destiny to overthrow a corrupt government.
