Tominos alternate version for "Chars Counterattack" was a new story outline that included Beltorchika and made Amuro into a family man. However, this idea did not appeal to sponsors, so they reverted back to the original "High Streamer" plot. Despite this setback, Tomino decided to write a novel based on his rejected movie plan. In U.C. 0093, Char Aznable returns as leader of Neo Zeon and aims to drop an asteroid base called Axis onto Earth. The task-force Londo Bell, led by Amuro Ray and his Gundam, opposes him in the final battle over the Earth Sphere.
