Sen attends Karasuda Private High School as a first year student. At this school, dormitory students are not given any lunch or dinner, which is meant to encourage self-care. As a result, some students with limited allowances have turned to fighting each other in supermarkets for discounted bento boxes. The most skilled fighters among them are known as "Wolves." One evening, Sen unintentionally became involved in a fight with these Wolves until she was rescued by the renowned fighter Kaneshiro Yu. He then invited her to join the world of ben-to fighting, where her adventure would begin.

Ben-To Zero: Road to Witch is a spin-off based off original light novel series, that focuses on Yarizui Sen.
