In 2019, yashio kaito and senomiya akiho are high school seniors who are the only members of their schools robotics club. although kaito is not interested in robots, he stays in the club because of his friendship with akiho. meanwhile, akiho is passionate about building a giant robot that her older sister started in the same club. however, due to lack of funding, the club has disbanded. now, after kaito is accused of cheating in "kill ballad online," akiho decides to risk the clubs existence by seeking funding to complete her sisters robot.
