Reading is Harumi Kazuhito's greatest joy in life. He spends most of his time engrossed in books. One evening, while enjoying a book at a café, a robber entered the establishment and threatened everyone inside. Despite not being the hero type, something compelled Kazuhito to try and stop the robber, resulting in his unfortunate demise. Upon waking up, he found himself reborn as a dog under the care of one of the customers present at the café that night, Natsuno Kirihime. As fate would have it, Kirihime has a somewhat sadistic personality and an affinity for scissors.
