The story revolves around a high school sophomore named Akihito Kanbara who appears human but possesses supernatural abilities. He can heal quickly and is invulnerable to wounds due to being half yōmu, a creature from Japanese folklore. One day, while on his way to school, he encounters freshman Mirai Kuriyama, who seems ready to commit suicide by jumping off the rooftop. Akihito saves her and learns that she can manipulate blood, making her unique even among members of the spirit world. After this event, strange occurrences begin to unfold.
