In 1921, tokyo was bustling with life. however, the peaceful atmosphere was short-lived as monstrous steam-powered robots crashed a flower-viewing party. the young girl in a kimono and traditional hakama pants quickly intervened and cut down the robots samurai-style. despite this event, japan remained prosperous and peaceful eight years after the horrific demon war. introducing ensign ogami ichiro, who had just graduated from the naval academy and was assigned to a base in tokyo. his headquarters was located at the imperial theater, where his first mission was collecting tickets at the gate. surrounded by beautiful girls who seemed knowledgeable about what was going on, ensign ogami ichiro was about to be swept into a world of robots, demons, and hot girls in uniform.

Sakura Taisen had seven volumes published in English by Tokyopop from December 13, 2005 to May 1, 2008, before the publisher became defunct.
