In 1606, Kyoto was the focal point of attention when a samurai established an unusual record by shooting fifty arrows through the temple's gallery. This event became known as Tooshiya, and it attracted many talented archers who tried to beat this record. The feudal lords were eager to show off their prowess by having the best archer in the country set a new unreachable record and claim the title of "First under the Sky." Kanza, a low-rank samurai seeking revenge for his father's accidental death, became involved in this battle of honor, pride, and willpower. He devoted himself entirely to training for Tooshiya.
