Garon Tsuchiya was born in 1947 in Tokyo and began his mangaka career in 1979. He passed away on January 7, 2018. In 1986, he completed his first major works with Makata Akyo in Ahomansu and Meisouou Boodaa. Later, he collaborated with draftsman Kawaguchi Kaiji for the title Tokishozo Disturbs and Losses. He worked with Taniguchi Jirou on the manga Ao no Senshi, Knuckle Wars and Live! Odyssey in 1992-1993. He also collaborated with Imashiro Takashi for the manga Takopon. Additionally, he worked with Minegishi Nobuaki on the manga Oldboy, which was later adapted into a film directed by Park Chan-Wook in 2003.
