Ishii Hisaichi is a renowned Japanese manga artist who was born on September 2nd, 1951, in Tamano, Okayama Prefecture, Japan. He gained international recognition for his manga series Nono-chan, which inspired the Studio Ghibli anime film Houhokekyo Tonari no Yamada-kun (My Neighbors the Yamadas). His works encompass a wide range of topics such as baseball, politics, economics, current events, philosophy, and more. Ishii is particularly known for his exaggerated caricatures of famous individuals like Kouichi Tabuchi, Kim Jong Il, and Tsuneo Watanabe. He holds a degree in sociology from Kansai University.
