Yukiji Asaoka  

Yukie Katou

Asaoka Yukiji, born on July 23, 1935 in Kyobashi, Tokyo, Japan, was an actress and singer associated with the Takarazuka Revue Company (宝塚歌劇団). She passed away on April 27, 2018. As a daughter of famous Japanese painter Itou Shinsui, known for his shin hanga style prints, she was raised in Tokyo. Her second husband was actor Tsugawa Masahiko. Yukiji gained fame through her roles in Japanese television series and starred opposite Shintaro Katsu in both the film version of the Zatoichi series and the first movie of the Hanzo the Razor trilogy. However, she is best known for her singing career and also worked as a voice actor.
