Hiroshi Negishi is an anime director who began his career at Toei Animation before moving on to Tatsunoko Production and Anime International Company (AIC). In 1991, he founded Zero-G Room, which later merged with Radix in 1995. The surviving studio was Radix, which he revived as Zero-G in 2011. He also established the Animation Innovation Content Project (AIC Project) in May 2014, a separate studio from AIC that licensed the AIC brand. In July 2015, AIC Project acquired the Saber Marionette IP and greenlit an anime adaptation for release in 2016. The project's status is unknown after May 2016 when they announced their company trade name would be changed to Saber Project.
