Constantino Romero García was a well-known Spanish TV and radio host and actor who was most famous for dubbing other actors into Spanish, including Clint Eastwood, James Earl Jones (as Darth Vader), and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator films. He was born in Albaceta and grew up in Chinchilla de Monte-Aragón (Albaceta) where his mother still lives today. His family is from both Chinchilla and Almansa. Romero began his career as an announcer at Radio Barcelona and RNE before moving on to television, hosting the program Ya sé que tienes novio from 1987 to 1992. He later presented El tiempo es oro on TVE and was very popular on Antena 3. Romero also appeared in regional TVs with La Silla and replaced Silvia Jato in Pasapalabra on Antena 3 when she became a mother. In addition to his work in television, he worked at CMT from 2002 to 2010 and made his stage debut in LÓpera de tres rals directed by Mario Gas in 1984. He continued to appear in musicals, including Sweeney Todd in 1995 and A Little Night Music by Stephen Sondheim. Romero won several awards for his work, including an Antena de Oro Award in 1999 and two TP de Oro awards. He retired from his career on December 12, 2012, after dubbing into Spanish the last film he worked on, Trouble with the Curve. Romero expressed his gratitude to his fans through Twitter, stating that "I've always known that the best part of my job were people." He passed away in Barcelona at the age of 65 on May 12, 2013.
