Franklin W. Welker is an American voice actor known for his diverse range of character voices, sounds, and vocal effects used in American television and film over the past 40 years. He has earned recognition as one of the top-grossing actors of all time, with a total revenue generated by his films surpassing that of Harrison Ford, Tom Hanks, and Samuel L. Jackson. In the 1980s, Welker provided the voices for Megatron, Soundwave, and their cassettes in the Transformers cartoon series, forming a team with Chris Latta who voiced Starscream, Megatrons second-in-command. He also lent his voice to Krulos, the leader of Rulon in Dino-riders, again collaborating with Latta who voiced Rasp, Krulos second-in-command. In G.I. Joe, Welker teamed up with Latta once more. Other notable actors who have worked alongside him include Jack Angel, Charlie Adler, and Peter Cullen in Transformers, Dino-riders, and G.I. Joe respectively. A memorable goof from Transformers revealed that Soundwaves unmodulated voice was almost identical to Dr. Claw of Inspector Gadget.
