Taira Yoshie is a renowned Japanese actress who was born on October 10th, 1954, in Obihiro, Hokkaido. She completed her education at St. Margarets Junior College located in Suginami, Tokyo. From the year 1985 to 1999, she played a significant role as Yukie, the wife of Ōoka Tadasuke, in the popular TBS prime-time television series Ōoka Echizen. She has also made her mark in numerous jidaigeki productions such as Gokenin Zankurō, Mito Kōmon, and Abarenbo Shogun. In addition to her work on stage, she has taken up various roles including Akai Tsuki, Nemuri Hime, Koi Yamabiko, Benkei, Shishi o Kau - Rikyū to Hideyoshi, Zenigata Heiji, and Kawaite Sōrō. As a voice actress, she has lent her talent by dubbing the mother in Doogie Howser, M.D., Amy Hasting in an episode of The New Perry Mason, and Abigail Bartlet in The West Wing. She has also made appearances in films and television commercials for Yōmeishu and Kao.
