ELISA is a Japanese pop singer and model who made her debut with the single "euphoric field feat. ELISA" in October 2007. She has been interested in singing since she joined a choir at the age of seven, and also played piano from an early age. At the age of nine, she participated in the national choir convention, and later joined an opera group at ten years old. Her favorite opera is "The Marriage of Figaro" by Mozart.
ELISA applied for the elite model management Japan's "elite Model Look 2007" audition when she was eleven years old. The top ten finalists were selected, and ELISA's performance at the audition led to her debut single, "euphoric field feat. ELISA," which recorded 22nd place on the ORICON chart upon its release in October 2007. This song later became a longtime seller and reached exceptional world-beater status with over 30,000 pieces sold as a rookie.
In May 2008, ELISA released her second single "HIKARI," which was the ending theme for the TV anime "Nabari no Ou." This song helped to strengthen her presence as a singer and showcased her ability to perform in contrasting ballad styles. Additionally, she appeared in the "2008 Animelo Summer Live -Challenge-" event in August 2008, where she overwhelmed over 18,000 people with her performance.
