Emi Nishida began her musical journey at the age of five when she joined Yamaha's music program and studied piano performance and composition. Her compositions were showcased at Yamaha's annual Junior Original Concert from 1998 to 2006, initially focusing on piano pieces before expanding to include small ensembles and more contemporary works. At the age of eleven, she composed a song for her former elementary school that is still performed by students every year. Additionally, Emi learned to play percussion instruments. One of her notable compositions, "Rhapsody" (2010), was performed at Tokyo High School Ensemble Contest and received a silver award. Another piece, "Into the Wild," for 4 hands piano, won the Special Chairman Award at the International Piano Duo Competition. Emi is currently pursuing her studies in Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music, where she aims to apply her unique compositional style and expand conventional film music. In 2017, she received the Alf Clausen Award from Berklee's Film Scoring Department.
