Previously married to John Rubinstein, Jane was born in Ft. Wayne IN. At the age of 19, she traveled to New York City to see a pre-Broadway production of Colette written by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, starring Diana Rigg. After its closing on tour, Jane moved to New York and began working as a dancer, singer, and actress on Broadway, Off Broadway, and across the country for many years.
Her notable Broadway roles include a leading part in Fosse (nominated for Drama Desk Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical), Jerome Robbins Broadway (Tony-nominated for Best Featured Actress in a Musical), Guys and Dolls directed by Jerry Zaks, Sweet Charity directed by Bob Fosse, Anything Goes directed by Jerry Zaks starring Patti LuPone, and On Your Toes directed by George Abbott. In the early 1990s, Jane relocated to Los Angeles.
Jane's television and film appearances include guest roles on Glee and Murder One, a recurring role in Diagnosis Murder, The Shield, Medium (a recurring role), leading roles in independent films such as Mercy and Michael directed by Nora Ephron starring John Travolta. She also joined Interact Theatre Co and performed in several plays there, including Counsellor at Law directed by John Rubinstein (winning awards from LA Critics Circle, Ovation, and Drama Logue).
Afterwards, Jane began choreographing and has since worked on various projects. Her choreography credits include numerous productions and workshops.
