In 1999, Miwa Ueda was awarded the Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo manga for her work Peach Girl. She was born on September 29th in Hyōgo, Japan, and began publishing her works in 1985.
Momo, the main character of Peach Girl, is partially based on Miwa herself. As a junior high school student, she often felt embarrassed because she tanned easily. In addition to Peach Girl, Miwa has also created other popular manga series such as Angel Wars, Oh My Darling, and Glass Hearts.
Miwa's favorite foods include watermelons, coffee, chocolate pikachu, flippers in pink, red, and silver, and roses.
