Ziyoou-vachi is a Japanese rock band consisting of four members who formed in Kobe in 2009. After playing together for approximately one year, they were selected to perform on the "Rookie a Go-Go" stage at Japan's renowned Fuji Rock festival. Their performance there attracted the attention of Japanese rock enthusiasts. However, it was their landmark gig at a secret party hosted by the fashion brand Hysteric Glamour in November 2010 that truly catapulted them to fame. Following this event, they became the talk of Japan's fashion elite.
In March 2011, Ziyoou-vachi began selling their first self-recorded CD-Rs at live shows. These discs, titled "The Mad Princess" and "The Wrath of the Royal Family," quickly sold out, allowing their label, Ziyoou Records, to release their next recording, "Witch Hunt," nationwide. In Fall 2011, they will put out their major-label debut on Sony Music Associated Records.
When announcing their decision to sign with a major label, bandleader Avu-chan revealed that the primary motivation behind this move was to enable the group to wear even more extravagant clothing and push themselves to new heights of excess. This should give listeners an idea of what to expect from their upcoming debut album.
