Alan Oppenheimer is a renowned American character actor and voice artist who has had an active career since the 1960s. He has lent his voice to numerous live-action television shows and cartoons, including Filmation's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in the 1980s. Oppenheimer is recognized for his work as Mighty Mouse, Ming the Merciless on Flash Gordon, Skeletor, Man-At-Arms, and Mer-Man from Filmations 1980s cartoon series. He has also provided voiceovers for other notable characters such as Thundarr the Barbarian, Vanity on The Smurfs, Rhinokey and Crock from The Wuzzles, Falkor and Gmork from The NeverEnding Story, Merlin in The Legend of Prince Valiant, Scooby-Doo's various incarnations, Norman Burg in the second season of The Big O, Beachcomber and Warpath on The Transformers, Seaspray with a similar gurgling effect to Mer-Man, Alistair Crane on Passions up until 2004, and the Scientist in the 2009 film 9.
