Hitoshi Ashinano is a renowned Japanese manga artist who gained fame for his creation Yokohama Kaidashi Kiko. This work earned him the Four Seasons Award from Afternoon magazine for debuting works and the 2007 Seiun Award for Best Science Fiction Manga. Apart from this, another notable piece of his is Position. Prior to launching his career, Ashinano worked as an assistant to manga artist Kousuke Fujishima. His style typically features a relaxed, nostalgic atmosphere with hints of mystery; there are often long periods without any dialogue. Under the name "suke," he also creates doujinshi.
