Dante Alighieri  

Dante Alighieri is widely regarded as one of the most significant Italian poets and writers, commonly known as "Il Sommo Poeta" (The Supreme Poet) in Italy. He was born approximately 1265 in Florence and passed away on September 14th, 1321, in Ravenna. Dante married Gemma Donati.
