Kobayashi Shichiro was born in Hokkaido, Japan on August 30th, 1932. He is an art director at Kobayashi Production, which he founded and currently represents as its leader. Additionally, he serves as a guest professor at Kobe Design University. After completing his studies at Musashino Art University, Kobayashi began working as an elementary school art teacher before joining Toei Douga in 1964 to continue his career in the animation industry. In 1968, he left Toei and established his own studio, Kobayashi Production. Throughout his career, Kobayashi has worked on numerous successful series and films, including Ashita no Joe 2, Magical Angel Creamy Mami, and Lupin III Castle of Cagliostro. He is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished art directors in the industry.
