Mayu Shinjo is a renowned smut-shoujo manga artist known for her diverse range of works, which encompass sweet and innocent themes to almost borderline H content. She has a particular fondness for big-chested girls with adorable faces and wishes that all her manga could feature them. Shinjo attributes much of her success to the support of her assistants and considers herself somewhat of a trend whore, who enjoys scandalous things. She identifies as both a foreigner otaku and a Disney maniac, and is known for her love of drinking and video/audio content. In 2007, Shinjo left Shogakukan due to alleged mistreatment from her editors. Currently, she works with Kadokawa and Shueisha. She runs a doujinshi circle called "Liliental" under the pseudonym Maru Shinozaki. On November 12th, 2014, Shinjo announced that she would be transitioning from shoujo to boys' love (BL) manga, stating her preference for male relationships. She has since expressed on Twitter that any future manga she creates will either be BL or focus on male relationships.
