Makio Inoue was born on November 30th, 1940, in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. He was a well-known voice actor (seiyuu) associated with Aoni Production. Inoue passed away on November 29th, 2019 due to worsening angina at the age of 80. Throughout his career, which spanned over six decades, he lent his voice to numerous anime and manga series. He was particularly renowned for portraying deep-voiced, serious male characters in the 70s. Toward the end of his career, Inoue took on fewer roles but still made a cameo appearance in Samurai Champloo as Mariya Enshirou in episodes 24-26. His two most iconic roles were those of Captain Harlock from 1978 to the 90s and Ishikawa Goemon XIII of Lupin III from 1977 until his death, which he took over from Ootsuka Chikao in 71 and 72.
