Takashi Miike is a renowned Japanese film director, producer, and writer who has been active in the industry since his debut in 1991. Over the years, he has directed over one hundred productions across various mediums, including theatre, video, and television. His films span multiple genres, ranging from violent and surreal to dramatic and family-friendly movies. Despite being a controversial figure due to some of his extreme graphic violence, Miike's work is highly acclaimed in the Japanese cinema industry. Some of his most notable works include Audition, Ichi the Killer, Gozu, One Missed Call, the Dead or Alive trilogy, and remakes of Graveyard of Honor, Hara-kiri, and 13 Assassins.
