Her name is derived from combining "Hatsu" (meaning "first"), "Ne" (referring to sound), and "Miku" (indicating future). This translates to "the first sound from the future." The voice data for Hatsune Miku was generated by recording Saki Fujita's, a renowned Japanese voice actress.
