Osamu Totsuka was born on June 9th, 1952 in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. He is a pianist, keyboardist, composer, and arranger who studied music with Hayashi Masahiko, Kitagawa Yuu, Watanabe Sadao, and Fujii Sadayasu. In the 1970s, after graduating from Keio University's Department of Politics, he worked as an arranger for J-pop singer Yagami Junko, helping to create a hit record called "Omoide wa Utsukushisugite." Later in the 1990s, Totsuka served as an accompanist for several notable chanteuses and jazz singers. He is a member of Japan Composers & Arrangers Association (JCAA) and Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC).
