Olson has been involved in the radio industry since 1975 and is known for using his voice with flair to create a unique tone. In 1993, he served as program director at a radio station in Edmonton and did a lot of commercial voice work. He entered the world of animation in the late '90s through a former graduate of the RTBN program. One of his students was a talent coordinator for Chinook Animations, which allowed him to audition for the role of re-voicing the Dragon Ball series for the "Blue Water Dub." His voice was used for broadcasting on TV stations such as YTV, but the episodes were not distributed. Olson's most well-known roles in the Dragon Ball universe include narrating the series, portraying General Rilldo and Old Supreme Kai, and providing additional voices in Dragon Ball GT. His background in theatre, with a bachelor's degree in drama and a master's degree in theatre, has played an important role in his voice acting career. Although radio was his source of income, drama was his passion.
