Yamada Yasuo (September 10th, 1932 - March 19th, 1995) was a renowned Japanese voice actor who hailed from Tokyo, Japan. After completing his studies in literature at Waseda University, he began working on various stage, radio, and television productions. His most notable role was portraying Arsène Lupin III in the Lupin III series, which ran from 1971 to 1995. Additionally, Yamada provided the Japanese dubbed voice for Clint Eastwood and Jean-Paul Belmondo. At age 62, he passed away due to a brain hemorrhage (apoplexy) in Ota-ku Jinbara metropolitan hospital. A tribute was included at the end of Farewell to Nostradamus, the first Lupin film without Yamada's participation. Since his passing, Kurita Kanichi has assumed the role of Lupin the Third, as per Yamada's last will. Initially, Yamada belonged to Gekidan Mingei before becoming a freelancer later in his career.
