At the conclusion of season 2, Yuuri emerges victorious against Shinou, but since he had already been defeated, Yuuri and Murata are unable to return to Shin Makoku. Nevertheless, due to his triumph over Shinou, Yuumi's abilities have surpassed those of Shinou, allowing him to rely solely on his own power in order to reenter the realm. Following the ceremony at age 16, Yuumi begins to uncover that a great deal has transpired while he was absent. The ten officials of the noble family have elected Wolfram as the next Maou, but now that Yuumi has returned and assumed his position once more, complications arise when one nobleman disagrees with his return to the throne. Moreover, an ancient secret society that poses a threat to both humans and Mazoku has resurfaced, prompting a struggle for the throne that leaves the nobles questioning who is truly the legitimate Maou.
