Shinra Kusakabe's resolve to become a hero that saves lives from the flame terror is strengthened after his confrontation with his younger brother Shou in the Nether. His goals now include finding a way to turn Infernals back into people, unraveling the mystery of the Evangelist and Adolla Burst, saving his mother and Shou, and protecting his fellow pillars from the Evangelist. However, he realizes that attaining these goals will not be easy due to the imminent danger posed by the Evangelist. The Evangelist plans to gather the eight pillars-those who possess Adolla Burst-and sacrifice them to recreate the Great Cataclysm from 250 years ago. With the revelation of the First Pillar that a new pillar is approaching, Shinra is determined to protect his fellow pillars from the Evangelist. As a result, a fiery battle between the Special Fire Force and the Evangelist ignites. During this battle, Shinra works towards uncovering the truth about the Great Cataclysm, the nature of Adolla Bursts, and the mysteries behind human combustion.
