On a typical day, houtarou oreki is sitting at home when his sister tomoe convinces him to work as a lifeguard at the local swimming pool. as soon as he arrives, he meets the other members of the classics club. at the pool, eru chitanda notices that a white object on a woman's ear has disappeared, sparking her curiosity about the mystery behind it. the story follows oreki and his friends as they enjoy their time at the pool and work together to solve the enigma that has caught chitandas attention.
