The Holy Grail War is a brutal conflict between mages that takes place every seven years. In this year's edition, seven masters and their servants are fighting to gain possession of the legendary Holy Grail artifact, which grants immense power to its possessor. This war has caused significant damage in Fuyuki City, resulting in over 500 deaths and leaving a lasting impact on the city. Shirou Emiya, who survived the previous war, aims to become a hero like his father Kiritsugu Emiya. Despite being just a student, he is thrust into this year's conflict when he witnesses a battle between servants at school and summons Saber as his own servant. As the body count rises in Fuyuki City due to a mysterious killer, Shirou teams up with Rin Toosaka, another participant in the war, to stop the carnage. However, his feelings for Sakura Matou lead him deeper into the dark secrets surrounding the conflict and the rival families involved.

Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel - I. Presage Flower adapts part of the third route of Type-Moon's visual novel, Fate/stay night. Originally released in 2004 for Microsoft Windows, Fate/stay night later received an enhanced port featuring full voice acting, new soundtracks and bonus content―titled Fate/stay night: Réalta Nua―which was released for the PS2 and PS Vita consoles, as well as the iOS and Android storefronts.
