Magenta, years after his father is defeated by an adolescent Gokuu Son, seeks revenge against Gokuus family and allies. To achieve this goal, he enlists Dr. Hedo, grandson of the evil legendary scientist Dr. Gero, to resurrect the defunct Red Ribbon Army. With their help, Magenta aims to eliminate Gokuu by creating a new line of superheroic androids. However, while Gokuu and Vegeta are training offworld, Piccolo mentors Pan, Gokuus toddler granddaughter, in the same way he once trained Gohan Son, her father. Despite having forsaken his warrior lineage to pursue an academic career, Gohan must also join forces with Piccolo when their peaceful lives are disrupted by the arrival of Gamma 1-gou and Gamma 2-gou-Hedos new android creations. While these androids believe they are fighting for justice, a more sinister project is brewing beneath the Red Ribbon headquarters. Gohan and Piccolo must take drastic actions to protect Pan and defend the planet against this new robotic threat.
