Towa and setsuna were two half-demon sisters who lived happily in feudal japan until a forest fire separated them. towa was thrown through a portal to modern-day japan where she was found by souta higurashi, who raised her as his daughter. ten years later, at the age of 14, towa is living relatively well but often gets into fights. one day, three visitors from feudal japan arrive on her doorstep: moroha, a bounty hunter; setsuna, a demon slayer and towa's long-lost twin sister; and mistress three-eyes, a demon seeking a mystical object. together, they defeat their foe but towa discovers that setsuna has no memory of her at all. the anime series hanyou no yashahime: sengoku otogizoushi follows the three girls as they try to fix setsunas memory loss and discover the truth about their linked destinies.
